Beer, bacon and bourbon will be served up alongside the wares of St. Louis merchants at the Gentleman’s Emporium from 5 to 11 p.m. on Friday, December 21 at Phantom Art Gallery (1300 Washington, 314-338-4220). According to event organizers, this Handmade Happy Hour production features a variety of gifts in a “man-approved” shopping environment.
Gender-neutral accessories, home goods, fine foods, prints, records, barware and more will be available for purchase at the event. Participating vendors will include Scarlett Garnet, Juxtapose Vintage, Apop Records, Devil City, Iron Age Tattoo, Miss Ohio Vintage and Lauren Ruth Designs, among others. Urban Chestnut Brewing Co. will be selling a new sampler pack of beer, with two brews available for tasting. Maven will have a selection of men’s body products as well.
“I think the best thing about this event is the diversity in vendors. It’s not just stuff for men, it’s stuff for everyone sold in an atmosphere that’s the exact opposite of the mall,” said Lindsay Pattan, Handmade Happy Hour organizer and co-owner of Miss Ohio Vintage.
In addition, Jenn Cloud of Mockturtle Designs will be on site offering complimentary gift wrapping. Inexpensive upgrades are available to add a little bit of flair to your packages.
“I’m a procrastinator… I think a lot of people can relate,” Pattan continued. “The Gentleman’s Emporium is a much needed happy hour, and our complimentary gift wrapping really makes it a one-stop shop for last-minute holiday shoppers.”
The Gentleman’s Emporium seeks to provide a fun and stress-free way for both men and women to finish their Christmas shopping and shop local at the same time.
A suggested donation of $3 or five cans of food will be accepted for Operation Food Search.
