Last Week’s Poll Results: The results from last week’s poll (which dealt with the 1917 East St. Louis race riot and Harper Barnes’ new book on the subject) featured an interesting “red state–blue state” breakdown. More specifically, 71.4 percent of respondents found our coverage of the riot thought-provoking and troubling and expressed a definite interest in the book—but the remaining 28.6 percent grumbled that it ranked as a tiresome left-wing “been there, done that.” Can’t we all just get along?
